Procedures

Determine Classroom Procedures Before School Starts is a checklist to set an organized classroom climate. The article's sections are beginning the class, classroom management, paper work, dismissal from class or school, syllabus or course outline, and other procedures. It includes a list of questions for teachers to answer as they are creating their own set of classroom procedures.

Posters like this can be used to provoke metacognition during reading.

Students should understand the expectations during whichever type of reading they're involved in.

Posting classroom jobs, procedures, rules, and schedule provides a sense of structure that most students require.
